Abstract :
In this text, adult and youth literacy is conceived primarily as a process of signification, inherent to the subject's participation in the life of society. This process is triggered by the production of oral and written language, which the human being comes to accomplish in a qualitative leap that occurs from their insertion into social life. This conception is discussed in this text, in the form of an imagined conversation between the author and his supervisor, Angel Pino.
