ANTHROPOLOGICAL EMBRACE: reflections on the teaching-learning process in anthropology

This paper aims to present theoretical and methodological considerations about teaching strategies in Anthropology, based on the debates developed during the course “Transformation, corporeality and affection in the construction of academic knowledge in times of crisis”, a special seminar held at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) in the first semester of 2020 in remote format due to the covid-19 pandemic. Reflecting on the investigative opportunities that arise from recognizing affectivities and approaching other forms of knowledge, we present a descriptive and propositional account of the experience of this course, in which we implemented and debated methodologies that take these aspects into account both in the classroom and in fieldwork. As a result, we highlight that the academic training space based on experimenting with perceptions, reflections and exchanges that bring together formal academic knowledge and popular education methods proved to be a fruitful possibility, always under construction, for critical and dialogical reflection.
