The aim of our research presented here was to obtain Gd2Mo3O12, b-GMO, ceramic from oxides mixture and solid state reaction. MoO3 and Gd2O3 oxides in molar ratios 3:1 and 3.25:1 were used as starting compositions. The sintered ceramic, after processing, was used as seed and pedestal in the single-crystal fiber pulling process by Laser Heated Pedestal Growth (LHPG) technique. The starting composition of 3:1 was the best to obtain Gd2Mo3O12 ceramic, while from 3.25:1 molar ratios for oxides precursors we pulled single-crystal fiber of better optical and stoichiometric quality.
