In the ceramic brick industry it is common pratice to mix several materials together to achieve a desired grain-size distribution of the raw material. This paper shows an optimization algorithm to establish the best proportion of each material aiming to obtain the same grain-size distribution of the target curve, which is defined a priori. This procedure can help to save noble material, once the process can depict that some materials do not need to be used in order to obtain the desired grain-size distribution.
