PRODUCION OF FOREST OF Eucalyptus grandis HILL EX MAIDEN IN SECOND ROTATION, CONDUCTED WITH A BUD IN THICKET AND SUBMITTED TO INTERPLANTING

ABSTRACT

In the present research, volumetric production, characterized by total volume with bark, and commercial volume without bark, was compared to diameter and average height of sproutings and trees originated from seeds, with 7 years of age in Eucalyptus grandis population. The experiments was done with 6 treatments and 4 repetitions in randomized block desigmed. The treatments awere: 80% of stump sawival (Treatment 1); 80% of stump sawival more 20% of interplanting (Treatment 2); 60% of stump sawival (Treatment 3); 60% of stump sawial more 40% of interplanting (Treatment 4); 40% of stump sawival (Treatment 5); 40% of stump sawial more 60% of interplanting (Treatment 6). The results showed that the total volume, as well as the commercial volume production in the treatments n.1, 2 and 4 don’t differ statisticaly by the Duncan testin a level of 5% of probability. The highest production was found in the treatment n.1. The diameter and average height showed a tendency to increase with a higher percentage of gap. Difference of values between these variables have not been observed for the sproutings and for interplanting inside the sane treatment.
