ABSTRACT
This article analyzes changes in the recruitment notices for five careers in the economic area of the Brazilian Federal Executive Branch to verify whether the ongoing Digital Revolution has changed the professional profiles sought. The study compares the most recent recruitment notices, issued between late 2023 and early 2024, with those published between 2008 and 2015, observing the number of vacancies for each career specialty and the knowledge required from applicants. The results point to a strong proportional increase in vacancies for specialties related to information technology, as well as a growing demand for professionals with expertise in data science. This trend is evident both in the civil service examination to assess the applicants’ knowledge in these areas and in the creation of positions specifically focused on these fields. The study concludes that recent technological changes have modified the professional profile sought for careers in the economic area of the Brazilian Federal Executive Branch.
