In this article is posed the importance of a physics teaching contextualized in its history, with special attention to its non-linearity and possible different readings. Several aspects of the history of science and its applicability is presented, as possible examples of a non-formal teaching. Some results of researches in spontaneous reasoning, using specific situations (specially on Earth ans its place in the universe), is used in a context of possible conceptual changes and for planning classrooms activities. The use of the history of science and, specially, the cosmology, is discussed as a possibility to define new ways for fundamental researches and to change scientific paradigms.
