Pibid teacher identities in the context of the Biology degree

Abstract:

In the face of the already known importance of education, and the pursuit of improved initial education programs, this article sets out to investigate early tokens of the emergence of teacher identities among Biology undergraduates within the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships (Pibid), as well as the importance of the program and the experiences it provides. In order to do that, we used discursive textual analysis (ATD), and a semi-structured questionnaire with twenty-five students in the program. The answers to the questionnaire generated a metatext that reveals the development of a concern for the teaching profession through practice, as well as difficulties found inside and outside of school, such as the status of the profession, political and monetary factors that may lead to the profession being neglected.
