Abstract:
The paper analyzes the contents that political, territorial and social space takes in the Mercosur. The so-called globalization process has consequences for the states and the regions and affects their political, social and territorial dimension. Regionalism is a response of the states that has a specific role and generates a differential field. The text analyzes three specific moments in Mercosur trajectory according to the international context and domestic variables. For the international context, mainly United States initiatives are considered. As domestic variables, different actors and in particular the states in their regional projection are analyzed. The text highlights the interrelation between the global process and the international, regional ans national political contexts.
