Nietzsche, the human, all too human and the superhuman Araldi, Clademir Luís

Abstract in English:

Abstract This article aims to compare Nietzsche's concept of the human and the all-too-human (Menschliches, Allzumenschliches) with his concept of the superhuman (das Übermenschliche), in light of his reflections on the Future Humanity, developed from his middle period onwards. Firstly, drawing on the ‘last man', I examine which notions of humanity and humanism Nietzsche abandons. Subsequently, I analyse the possible affirmative meanings for future humanity (die zukünftige Menschlichkeit) that can be constructed on the basis of the concept of the will to power. Finally, I show that Nietzsche's concepts of the human and the superhuman are incompatible with current formulations of the Posthuman.
