Women, children and their rights

The article discusses the evolution of children's and women's rights in Brazil, specially the rights of small children to education. The analysis is based on the changes is the definition of human rights in different historical contexts and on the demands brought about by the social movements that had impact on recent Brazilian legislation. The article also discusses the contradictions and barriers that have to overcome in order to apply this new legislation in the reality.
