Abstract
This article makes use of the dissonance introduced by the body of the transsexual athlete Tifanny Abreu in the Women's Volleyball Super League to tension the scientific and moral bases on which the operation of high-performance sports is based. The analysis of the controversy about the legitimacy of Tifanny’s presence in the aforementioned competition, carried out in the light of the contributions of Latour (1994, 2012), Haraway (1995, 2009), Preciado (2002) and Mol (2008), will provide important elements to question the unidimensionality usually attributed to the conception of the body.
