Open-access Glaucomatous syndrome in dogs: part 2

Glaucoma remains a leading cause of blindness in human and domestic animals. On the curse of its pathogenesis increase on intraocular pressure may onset precocious retinal cell death. New agents have been developed in attempt to control intraocular pressure and protect retinal cell from apoptosis and death. The present article reviews the pharmacology, the indications and side effects of the most commonly agents used topically for the treatment of glaucoma in dogs. In addition, approaches contemporaneous surgical techniques that better reach the control of the condition.
