A case of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome associated with disseminated eosinophilic disease is described in a 5-year-old German Shepherd cross male dog. Clinical signs included apathy, intolerance to exercise, dyspnea, and tachicardia. Laboratory findings included eosinophilic leukemoid reaction and cytological evidence of marked marrow eosinophilic hyperplasia. A bilateral radiopaque area appeared cranial to the heart in the radiological examination of the thorax. An aspiration biopsy of the intrathoracic mass yielded large numbers of eosinophils that allowed a clinical diagnosis of pulmonary infiltration with eosinophilia, which was confirmed histologically.
