The viability of cleidomastoid and sternomastoid muscular flap was tested as partial reconstruction in the cervical esophagus. Five dogs were submitted to surgery, where an esophageal segment, measuring approximately 2 x 3cm was excised and substituted by muscular tissue. At post morten evaluation it Was observed the esophageal mucous membrane proliferation over the muscular flap.
