SUMMARY The experiment was conducted in Passo Fundo City, Passo Fundo University, RS, Brazil, during the 1991/92 growing season, with the objective of to verify the existence of interaction between plant densities and row spacings for the grain's moisture and receptacle and to evaluate the planfs densities and row spacings on anticipate sunflower's harvest. Four planfs densities (30 000; 50 000; 70 000 and 90 000 plants/ha) and three row spacings (0.3; 0.5 and 0.7m) were tested. The results showed that the increased on the competition with the increase of planfs densities, decreased the duration of growth stage emergence -phisiological maturity. On the other hand, the increase of planfs density, decreased the head diameter and accelerated the loss of grain's moisture making possible the anticipate sunflower's harvest.
