Lolium multiflorum Lam. and Paspalum urvillei steud morphogenesis under levels of phosphorus and potash

The study was conducted on a lowland area, aiming to evaluate the morphogenic response of Lolium multiflorum and Paspalum urvillei, under levels of fertilization (50, 100 e 150% of the suggested levels) of phosphorus (P) and potash (K). Marked tillers were used to evaluate leaf elongation and appearance rates and phyllochron. Fertilization levels affected (P<0.044) leaf elongation rate of , from 08/03 to 08/17, with variation of 0.374 to 0.436mm DD-1 tiller-1, from lower to higher fertilization levels. Leaf appearance interval was of 11.7 days and phyllochron of 156 DD, in treatments and periods average. For P. urvillei, fertilization levels didn‘t change leaf elongation rate, being of 0.375mm DD-1 tiller-1, in the average for periods and treatments. There was an effect of fertilizer levels in leaf appearance rate in 10/19 to 11/09 period, when treatment with 100% of suggested level had the higher leaf elongation rate, differing (P<0.003) from the reminder. Phyllochron was higher (250 DD) from 01/04 to 01/24, and was similar from 10/19 to 11/09 and 02/02 to 02/23 (166 and 175 DD, respectively). The higher levels of P and K affected leaf elongation rates of and leaf appearance rates in P. urvillei. Phyllochron values of both species were similar, emphasizing growth and production potential of the native specie.
