From an historic and social approach, the study of the knowledge and practising of nursering allows us to understand the social insertion and meaning of this profession, as well as its conflicts and contradictions. It evolved from an autonomous practising to a subordination to the health care medical model developed since the Industrial Revolution. In the absence of a specific object or program, nursering lacks also for an autonomous knowledge. Profession crisis is present in the dissociation among practising, knowledge and institutional control Health sector's continuous changes enable to study different and new perspectives related to professional nursering.
