In this paper the thermal diffusivity and the thermal conductivity of some biological materials were determined. The device has six thermocouples type ‘T’ radially distributed in a cylinder connected to a data acquisition system registering the temperature change. The values of thermal diffusivity (1,12x10-4 m2/s) and thermal conductivity (0,138W/moC) obtained for wheat (Triticum aestivum), and the values of thermal diffusivity (1,67x10-4 m2/s) and thermal conductivity (0,122W/moC) obtained for shelled rice (Orysa sativa) match to those found in the ASAE STANDARTS (1990), certifying the usefulness of the equipment.
