O objetivo principal deste trabalho foi propor uma reflexão sobre o processo a ser utilizado para a elaboração de um léxico bilíngüe na subárea de cardiologia. Para tanto, tomamos como base os conceitos dos estudos da tradução baseados em corpus, da lingüística de corpus e da terminologia. Como material para compor os corpora utilizamos artigos de cardiologia escritos em português e traduzidos para o inglês, assim como artigos originalmente escritos em português e em inglês. Com base no léxico proposto, pudemos notar algumas diferenças e algumas correspondências de uso entre os termos que aparecem no subcorpus de estudo de textos originais e traduzidos e nos corpora comparáveis em português e em inglês. Essa diferença apontaria que os termos não seriam unívocos dentro dessa linguagem de especialidade devido às diferenças de uso pelos especialistas de cardiologia para designar um mesmo referente.

This paper aims at proposing a reflection on the process for elaborating a bilingual lexicon of cardiology. The methodology used is that of corpus-based translation studies; that of corpus linguistics; as well as that of terminology. The material used in this study was composed of papers of cardiology written in Portuguese and translated into English and articles originally written in Portuguese and in English. Based on the lexicon proposed we have seen that there are some differences and correspondences between the use of terms in the articles from the subcorpus of study composed of original and translated texts and the use of terms in the comparable corpora in Portuguese and in English. This difference indicates that the terms are not univocal in the medical language due to the differences in use by cardiologists to name the same referents.

O objetivo desta pesquisa foi verificar se há diferença no desempenho caso os candidatos façam o teste oral sozinhos ou em pares. Duas versões do First Certificate in English foram aplicadas para dez alunos em duas situações diferentes (examinadorcandidato e candidato-candidato-examinador). Todos os testes foram gravados, transcritos e analisados estatisticamente. Após o segundo teste, os participantes responderam a um questionário para informar suas opiniões sobre os testes. Apesar de haver uma tendência em falar mais, usar uma maior diversidade de vocabulário e uma maior complexidade gramatical quando em pares, oito dos dez candidatos manifestaram uma preferência pela realização do teste individual.

This research is aimed at checking whether there are differences or not on the candidates' test performances in case the test is taken individually or in pairs. Two versions of the First Certificate in English were applied on ten students in two different occasions (examiner-candidate and candidate-candidate-examiner). All tests were recorded, transcribed and statistically analyzed. After the second test, the participants answered a questionnaire to give their opinion about the tests. Although there is a bias to speak more, use a more diverse vocabulary and when in pairs, eight out of ten candidates revealed they would rather take the test individually.

Neste estudo se investiga o apagamento da preposição diante do pronome relativo entre falantes de português do extremo sul do Brasil e Norte do Uruguai; os resultados são comparados a dados do português europeu. Os material utilizado é todo de língua falada: dois estilos do projeto ADDU-Atlas Lingüístico Diatópico y Diastrático del Uruguay (pergunta-resposta e conversa livre), cinco entrevistas do Projeto NURC-Norma Urbana Culta) Porto Alegre), além de entrevistas do projeto Português Fundamental, do português europeu. A análise das amostras sugere que a tendência de apagar a preposição diante do pronome relativo, comum no PB, no espanhol e no italiano, não é tão freqüente no PE, em que, até mesmo nas circunstâncias de tempo e lugar, a preposição em é mantida. Observou-se também que, tanto no Potuguês Brasileiro quanto no Europeu é comum o uso do relativo que para substituir um constituinte preposicionado para esquivar-se da construção de uma relativa complexa.

This study investigates the deletion of the preposition that precedes the relative pronoun by Portuguese speakers of the south of Brazil and the north of Uruguay; the results are compared to data of European Portuguese. The material used is entirely of the spoken language: two styles taken from the project called ADDU-Atlas Lingüístico Diatópico y Diastrático del Uruguay (questions and answers, and free conversation), five interviews taken from the project known as NURC (Standard spoken language), in addition to interviews from the project called Português Fundamental (or Basic Portuguese spoken in Portugal). The analysis of the samples suggests that the tendency to delete the preposition ahead of the relative pronoun, common in Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish and Italian, is not so frequent in European Portuguese, where, even in the circumstances of time and space, the preposition in is preserved. It was also noticed that in both Portuguese varieties the use of the relative pronoun that is frequently used to replace a propositioned constituent to avoid the construction of a complex relative clause.

Neste trabalho, analiso alguns flagrantes de um processo de produção escrita coletiva, em aula de língua materna, que resultaram na elaboração de um jornal escolar por mim caracterizado como um gênero textual híbrido. Em outros termos, investigo as misturas de gêneros de domínios escolares e não-escolares, instauradas no processo de produção escrita no espaço de sala de aula. Tal caracterização é justificada pelas remissões, semiotizadas na materialidade textual, a outros gêneros textuais familiares aos atores participantes do processo aqui reconstruído. Esses gêneros integram alguns eventos de letramento do cotidiano dos alunos, em diferentes domínios sociais. Em termos de planejamento didático, a análise dos dados mostra que as remissões são pouco previsíveis, sendo desencadeadas pelas ações de inúmeros atores componentes do espaço complexo da sala de aula, resultando na instauração de novas práticas de uso e reflexão sobre a escrita. Essa dinâmica da sala de aula pode desencadear inovações no ensino de língua materna.

In this paper I analyze some moments of collective writing production during a school process which resulted in a production of a school journal characterized as a hybrid textual genre. In other words, I investigate the mixing of genres from school and non-school domains set up in the writing production process in the classroom environment focused here. This characterization is justified by the remissions to the other textual genres that are familiar to the actors of the process reconstructed here. They form some literacy events from students' everyday life on different social domains. In educational planning terms, the analysis of data shows that the remissions are quite unpredictable and they are caused by the actions of innumerable actors from the complex space of the classroom environment. These remissions trigger new use and reflection practices about writing and also innovations on mother language teaching.

Este artigo tem o objetivo analisar a interação por meio dos discursos no romance, partindo do princípio que não são formas sintáticas de transmissão das falas e dos pensamentos das personagens, mas representações da interação entre sujeitos e suas posições axiológicas. Analisa a relação entre Lingüística e Literatura, partilhando a visão de Maingueneau segundo a qual não se pode continuar a pensar dicotomicamente essa relação, uma vez que as duas ciências da linguagem trazem novas descobertas para o texto literário. Tomando por base a teoria bakhtiniana, faz um estudo dos discursos num fragmento de Capitães da Areia, que revela o embate de visões de mundo, a das elites e a dos excluídos, representados artisticamente nesse romance.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the interaction in the novel, starting from the principle that discourses can not be structured as reported speeches, for they are representations of the interaction between subjects and their axiological positions. This paper also analyses the relationship between Linguistics and Literature, sharing Maingueneau's view that one can not continue to think this relationship dichotomically, for both sciences of language bring new discoveries for the literary text. Taking Bakhtinian discourse theory as our base, this article studies the discourses in a fragment of Capitães de Areia, which reveals the clash of views of the world: that of the elite and that of the excluded, represented artistically in the novel.
