The object of the research was the incorporation of lightweight technologies in the hospital context, in the perspective of nurses and their relation with the nursing care. Objectives: To characterize the technologies considered light in the hospital, in the perspective of nurses; and to analyze the conceptions of the nurses about the use of these technologies in the nursing care. It was based on the classification of different types of technologies at the work in health and in assumptions about the nursing care. Exploratory Research, qualitative, descriptive, developed at two University Hospitals in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The data were collected through the technique of creativity and sensitivity "Almanaque" kind, combined with a semi-structured interview. From the speech of the nurses emerged technologies based on their experiences of care. Their conceptions about light technology revealed what theorists of nursing refer to as attributes of the human relationship in care. These discussed in the field of the nursing care emerge as a quality of the care itself.
