It is an experience based report which aims to describe the cartography application on data collection for a doctorate thesis in which the object of this study deals with strategies of the nursing team in front of hospitalized children with Infectious Diseases. The text discusses the geography-cartography technique and its usage / application for nursing studies and researches. This technique allows the construction of knowledge, characterizing the systems of actions that give movement and map the space. It favors a reading beyond the practices boarders, the realities and also an understanding of specialties, revealing itself as a process with meaning for a world social understanding. The development of nursing research using the cartography is still unusual. However, we believe that the cartography can strongly cooperate with the construction of a knowledge, characterizing the systems of actions that give movement and map the space.
