A quantitative descriptive correlation study was conducted, whose aim is to validate an Eating Habits Scale (EHA) for the Portuguese population. The study involved 418 individuals of both sexes, from the Central region of Portugal, through the process of accidental non-probability sampling, with the use of self-completion questionnaires. The data collection method used was based on a socio-demographic characterization, and the obtainment of information to characterize the dietary habits for the Portuguese population. The EHA has 40 items, rated on a Likert type scale, of an interval order, which showed good psychometric properties, with an overall Cronbach Alpha of 0.816, therefore, suitable for application in scientific research.
