Roberto Simonsen at the origins of Brazilian modern social thought

This essay aims to introduce the developmental ideas of Roberto Simonsen, one of the first modern Brazilian thinkers concerned about the problems of industrialization and its social aspects. Simonsen played a crucial role as a statesman and as an industrialist in the first government of President Getúlio Vargas, therefore being in a central position in the rise of Brazilian populism.
