On Time and Practiced Knowledge in Full-Time School

Abstract:

This essay analyzes the extension of the learning time and the nature of school education in the context of the society projects that configure the full-time public school in Brazil. The text is structured in two sections. The first one reflects on the nature of the knowledge provided by full-time schools, from the relationship between the historically formed knowledge and local knowledge. The second section discusses how the articulation of diversified activities makes up the knowledge practiced by the school, in order to achieve social inclusion and citizenship.
