Children and Contemporary Art at School and in Exhibition Spaces. The text reflects on the relationship between children and contemporary art at school and in exhibition spaces. The study is based on a qualitative doctoral research built on a theoretical and conceptual approach that correlates the fields of study of contemporary art, childhood and education, with emphasis on the relationship between interactivity, children’s cultures, multiple languages. The methodology involved a didactic intervention with children of a public school and accompanying children to an exhibition. The particularities of the spaces in the child’s experience with contemporary artistic proposals suggest different possibilities of encounters with art and point out some challenges of mediation in this relationship.
