THOUGHTS ON CORPOREALITY IN THE CONTEXT OF INTEGRAL EDUCATION

ABSTRACT:

By problematizing the Cartesian paradigm, the body has been the object of attention in the educational field. In the current scenario that moves towards the expansion of the school day, this is a relevant matter. This paper, of bibliographic nature, aims at contributing to this debate by seeking elements to analyze the concept of body present in integral education movements in the country and in the Programa Mais Educação (More Education Program), using the corporeality proposition suggested by Merleau-Ponty. Conclusions of this analysis enable reflecting that the division between body / mind remains in these movements; and in the More Education Program it is possible to catch a glimpses of advances towards corporeality. However, full time school may not be structured in the juxtaposition of curricular activities in proposals for expanding school hours. Rather, it must provide a comprehensive view of the student body, which is why we list arguments in favor of a learning corporeality as a possible foundation for integral education experiences.
