Abstract
The article aims to discuss the concept of black history. To this end, it examines aspects of the texts of some Afro-Brazilian historians, past and present. The concept, in the process of refinement, refers to the historical production of black authors, self-declared or not, who research racialized themes in the light of a politically and culturally Afro-identified place of enunciation.
