Abstract
The present text, Cifras da lingua: the poetics and debabelizing of Antonia Torreão Herrera, deals with an analysis of the book-poem Babel, by Antonia Torreão Herrera (2020)HERRERA, Antonia Torreão (2020). Babel. Salvador: Edufba .. Based on the multiple intellectual profile of Antonia Torreão Herrera, we seek to discuss how the theoretical reflection on language is built-in Babel's poetic writing. Thus, the objective is to discuss how the poetics of Antonia Torreão Herrera intertwines her theoretical and poetic reflections to enable writing that displaces the senses of language and artistic practice, seeking democratic ethics of knowledge and art. Thus, Michel Foucault's concept of “self technique” will be used, to think about the process of creating a intellectual mulitple. The main discussion will focus on the term “debabelize”, starting from a theoretical reflection on the language and its configuration using the supplement concepts of Jacques Derrida and the thoughts of Jacques Rousseau and Jean Starobinski, as well as the concept of zero-degree of Roland Barthes. For Herrera, degree-zero is literature itself, language as belonging and tearing. Thus, it will be possible to interpret the images and figures of Babel's creative project, delimiting the coordinates that support the mechanisms for grinding artistic references and poetic text, enabling a creative pulse of life through the language itself.
