Open-access The strategic use of digital communication models in the management of infocommunication spaces in university libraries

Abstract: This research addresses the communication process models, the communication process in infocommunication spaces and the use of models as guiding instruments for the management of information actions in infocommunication spaces. The objective is to theorize and construct a communication model focused on the social media of university libraries. The research is exploratory in nature and descriptive-explanatory, based on an investigation and critical evaluation of pertinent retrospective studies, in order to facilitate the construction of ideas and concepts about the themes. The results of the research were obtained through the analysis of the models of the information management cycle and the digital communication models found described in the literature. Based on the analysis carried out and contrasting it with the contemporaneity of digital media, a model was constructed that illustrates the communication process of university libraries in digital communication spaces. In conclusion, the study presents a digital communication model that can be used by any library that wishes, with the differential of being able to adapt it to the communication process of libraries in modern infocommunication spaces.
