Comparative Education Brazil–Spain: State of the Art 1990–2014

Abstract

Despite the numerous definitions of what State of the Art is, it is possible to understand it as a bibliographical study geared to inventorying quanti and qualitatively the knowledge produced in a certain area of scientific and academic knowledge. Therefore, this work aims to develop a study on that area, focusing literature related to Comparative Education Brazil-Spain published between 1990 and 2014. The research studies the literature found according to the following five groups of comparison: Education Policies, Learning Methods, Eras, Curricula and Education Institutes. This study postulates that the literature illustrates the variety of subjects and theoretical and methodological approaches that mark the field of Comparative Education, also revealing the consensuses and disagreements related to movements that bring the realities of Education in these countries together, or push them apart.
