Open-access Scientific and Technological Dissemination of Physics in Brazil: an analysis on Twitter (X)

This research, grounded in Bourdieusian theory, examines to what extent the space of Scientific and Technological Dissemination related to Physics on Twitter can be considered a specific field -Scientific and Technological Dissemination on Twitter (STDT)- within the Brazilian Educational Field (BEF). Data collected through fieldnotes (a field diary) and platform algorithms, aligned with digital ethnography, enabled the construction of the sociogenesis of this space. A relational analysis described positions and hierarchies among disseminators associated with the hashtag #FísicaThreadBr. Using the platform’s API, the theoretical and methodological procedures of Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) were carried out in R, allowing us to model the power structure that organizes the space under study. This structure is expressed through the Capital of Scientific and Technological Dissemination on Twitter, composed of Specific Capital and Institutionalized Capital. By making these mechanisms of differentiation explicit, the study expands the CEB by incorporating scientific and technological dissemination on social media and offers theoretical-methodological reflections on its relationship with the field of Research in Science Education
