Brazilian theses and dissertations about equivalence relations: a production analysis from 1998 to 2000

The Brazilian production in the form theses and dissertations on stimulus equivalence is wide, but remains the question of how this production is characterized. The aim of this study was to organize the identification data of dissertations and theses about the subject "equivalence relations" that report empirical researches with humans published in Brazil from 1998 to 2007, and list the words and expressions used by the authors in the introduction to make reference to the stimuli equivalence phenomenon. A total of 9840 dissertations/theses titles were localized and read; in this study remained 111. In conclusion, this subject presents huge representativeness in Brazil and increasing production; the model has been expressively applied in the educational area and there is a considerable variation in the use of words/expressions to make reference to the equivalence relations concept.
