Open-access Psychologists in Public Health Services: challenges to professional training and practice

The present paper aims at developing a brief analysis of the work performed by psychologists in public health services. The process of inclusion and the main factors that had favoured its insertion in these institutions are discussed. The academic training (theoretical patterns and paradigms that guide professional performance) and its consequences to practice in public health are focused.
