The synthesis of tin(II)-EDTA solid complex is described and its characterization carried out through elemental analysis, infrared absorption spectroscopy, X Ray diffractometry and nuclear magnetic resonance of ¹H and 13C. The thermal behaviour is evaluated through termogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) curves in inert and oxidizing atmospheres suggesting steps of thermal decomposition to the chelate. Scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) shows different morphologies to oxide residues obtained at 1200ºC depending on the heating heat used.
