The paper discusses the pedagogical practices observed in a Municipal School of Early Childhood Education (EMEI) of Southern Brazil, from data collected for the national survey "Pedagogical practices with ethnic-racial relations in the school from the perspective of Law 10.639/2003". The observed teaching practices focused mainly on Children's Literature and the images that circulate in school. The results were compared with those from other studies on racial relations and Kindergarten, analyzing teaching practices. The analysis points to effective recovery of the black population, but at the same time a number of limitations and internal contradictions in school.
