History and implementation of the legislation of internship in Brazil

This article aims to analyze the legislation of internship in Brazil since its institutionalization until today as a way to introduce changes that promoted the internship integration in the educational process as a curriculum component. It is a historical and comparative study of dialectical approach whose data were collected from primary and secondary sources. The result showed that throughout history there have been positive developments regarding the concept of internship as a curricular component as well as the relationship between students, companies and schools.
