The aim of this paper is to reflect over an emergent field of research, one which is necessary in order to understand the meaning of experience related to knowledge of teaching in teacher's work, according to the perspective of ergonomic inspired by a situated learning process. In the context of the new format of the Brazilian educational policies in the field of educational reforms, this study highlights the debate over teacher education and its recent tendencies. This brings conceptual and methodological issues aimed at investigating the nature of knowledge of teaching, focusing on teaching competences in the context of knowledge in the basis of this practice.
