Teachers’ perceptions of quality assurance education policies in Chile

ABSTRACT:

The present article shows Chilean education system teachers’ evaluation about the effects of quality assurance measures on the promotion of what they understand as education quality. The selection of Chile is due to its long trajectory in the implementation of education quality assurance measures. Teachers identify learning standards and standardized tests as the main barriers for the promotion of a quality education. The effects of these measures are, in their opinion, the reduction of education to scores in standardized tests, and the depersonalization of education.
