HERITAGE EDUCATION AND SUSTAINABILITY: CASE STUDY IN COMPULSORY SECONDARY EDUCATION SOCIAL SCIENCES

ABSTRACT

The study shows the analysis of a Social Sciences teaching experience that starts from the need to reconnect the student with their social, cultural and natural environment using heritage as a symbol of identity. The objective is to educate towards the current needs and challenges of planetary development, creating identity connections between people and environments. Starting from the qualitative paradigm, information is obtained from questionnaires, observations and analysis of student projects, which is analyzed through a category system. The results show how heritage education proposals favor the creation of identity bonds that promote critical, reflective and committed citizen training with their territory and community.
