Basic Education in Brazil

Since the 1988 Constitution, and more specifically during the 8 last years, basic education in Brazil has undergone great changes. Analyzing it implies considering such given preliminaries as the federative pact, social inequities, the international links and the very notion of basic education so that the assessment, focalization, decentralization, deregulation and financing policies can be contextualized. These changes manifest a strong focalization on primary education at legal age. Such is not the case with other steps, as important as primary education.
