Themes and intrigues in post-graduation in education

To talk about the themes and intrigues of Brazilian post-graduation in Education, we have divided our text in two. The first part highlights some important moments of the history of post-graduation in Brazil. We point out how the changes introduced by Fundação Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) after its 1996/1997 evaluation represented a relevant inflection in this process. Among others impacts, they have redesigned the profile of that level and, from that moment on, post-graduation has began to stress fundamentally research and researcher training. Our second part presents some theoretical features that frame the discussions on the production of knowledge nowadays, particularly in Social and Human Sciences, and their effect on educational research.
