ABSTRACT
Education is the idea of upbringing and cultivation committed to the dignity of human being. The task of the school is to enable education in this sense. Education is not merely the teaching and promotion of skills needed to live in complex societies. The guiding idea of education is the question of the meaning and purpose of education in general: how is an independent and common, self-determined and at the same time responsible life for oneself and all others possible? The idea of education is therefore the question of man for himself: what are we, what can we be, what can and should we be for each other?
