PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTERNSHIPS: PERFORMANCE OF THE AYRTON SENNA INSTITUTE IN THE PUBLIC EDUCATION OF THE BRAZILIAN RS STATE

ABSTRACT

This work investigates the performance of Instituto Ayrton Senna (IAS) in the city and state networks of education of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS). The research is subsidized from the perspective of Stephen Ball’s critical sociology, aiming to analyze the influence context involving educational policies through the utilization of new sources of virtual data. The Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) are understood as new mechanisms of privatization in the context of globalization, the redefinitions of the State, and the New Public Management (NPM) and governance movements. The research about IAS revealed its strong performance and network of influences, with programs for literacy and management in education, and important developments in educational concepts and practices.
