ABSTRACT:
This article aims to reflect on the processes of school withdrawal experienced by teenagers in Brazil. The study is based on the results of the survey "The withdrawal of teenagers aged 15 to 17 years old attending high school in Brazil: challenges and perspectives". The survey was developed in 2012 and 2013 in the cities of Belo Horizonte, Brasília, São Paulo, Fortaleza and Belém. Based on the experiences narrated by these young teenagers throughout the focus groups and the in-depth interviews, multiple variables that interfere in their school history will be analyzed, trying to understand the patterns and possible causes of school withdrawal of these adolescent students.
