IN PAULO FREIRE’S COMPANY: LEARNING TO BECOMING

ABSTRACT

The following text is a brief biographical exercise that serves to select and order some fragments of an academic and professional itinerary marked by the presence and influence of the Brazilian educator Paulo Freire.. The theory of biographicality holds that life can be enriched by its narrative, and that thiscontributes to reordering and giving meaning to past and ongoing actions. This account privileges the moments in which the author has had the influence –the intellectual and human companionship– of Paulo Freire. Undoubtedly, the world has been greatly enriched by the conversation, to which Paulo Freire’s writings have invited me.
