THE STATE OF ART REGARDING DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND BLENDED EDUCATION

ABSTRACT

In recent years, the education process has been strongly influenced by digital transformation, consolidating technology as a facilitating element in education. In this sense, blended education emerged as an opportunity to mix face-to-face and distance learnings, combining the benefits of these two formats. Considering the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the need for remote teaching and the subsequent return to face-to-face activities, the importance of integrative studies that allow understanding the state of art on digital transformation through blended education has emerged. A systematic literature review was carried out on the Scopus database in July 2022. The research identified 83 articles after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria between the years 2007 and 2022, representing an interval of 15 years. The work showed that, despite the resistance and concerns raised throughout the discussions, the digital transformation in education, as well as blended learning, can streamline educational processes and favor learning at different levels of education and, thus, make difference in the modern society for the individual’s development.
