Open-access ORGANIC MATTER IN TABLELAND SOILS FROM THE NORTH REGION OF RJ

This study had the objective of evaluating organic matter fractions of the in tableland soils of Campos of Goytacazes-RJ, under coverage of secondary forest, pasture and sugar cane. Soil samples were collected at 0-20 and 20-40 cm depht. Total organic carbon, humin, humic acid and fulvic acid and free fulvic acid were quantified. The results showed that the transformation of the organic matter and the consequent increase of the humified fractions was higher in the areas under ARGISSOLO than in LATOSSOLO. This result what was attributed to the sandy texture the ARGISSOLO.
