The project everything is green, everything is well: subproject environmental education / community participation was elaborated to decrease the habitual damage in urban trees that were caused by accident. The objectives were to show the Paracambi population, the necessity to grown and preserve the trees, to increase the tree number; and to encourage the teachers and university’s studants how work and to live together with the local community. The project was devided in three stages: planning, execution and evaluation, from October 1990 up to October 1991. At the planning stage, some ponts were selected for grow trees, based in socio - socio-environmental caracteristcs. All the stages were realized with the population and the local ou thority and had good acceptance. After 6 months was verified an in crease in careful with the trees in the strees and an increase of 50% in number of urban trees.
