Open-access THE TIRIRICA STATE PARK BOTANICAL POTENCIAL

The Tiririca State Park is located in Rio de Janeiro state, between Niterói and Maricá counties. With an area of 2400 ha, it was created in 1991. It is situated in Atlantic forest ecological’s territory. The aim of this research was a preliminary botanical inventory, as a source of data to elaborate the park’s management plan. The Tiririca State Park main environmental problems are: deforestation, burning and irregular ocupations. Although these environmental problems, this state park has the best sample of Atlantic forest from Niteroi and Maricá counties.
